Stormy’s Clinton ANDERSON lunging for respect.

Like in the song Breakaway by kelly clarkson I grew up in a small town. As a child I would wonder about horses and think ‘I’ll be a COWBOY when I grow up’ But one day I was watching a old westen movie and realized I didn’t like how the ‘cowboy’ treated his horse. So, I desided to learn all I could about horse training and horses in general. I read about and practiced the stuff that I read about on the Family Little Bay Mare named Mistery. However, something just didn’t seem right. Then one day I came across the book Imprint Training of the Newborn Foal by Robert M. Miller, DVM and it came to me, I had been training my horses the Normal way NOT the Natural Horsemanship way I then read all I could about other Natural horsemen and their method. Such as, Pat Parelli and Clinton Anderson. I then came across another book by Dr. Robert M. Miller the name of the book is Natural Horsemanship Explained. I recommened every horse lover read it! Now I have been useing Clinton Anderson’s Method of Natural Horsemanship. You can learn a lot from Clinton Anderson because he breaks everything down so I recommened going to his wedsite which is www.DOWNUNDERHORSEMANSHIP.COM I had desided to breakaway from the old and learn the new! Breakaway, Take a risk well worth taking, take a chance you will be glad you did, Make a change to Natural Horsemanship! TAKE A RISK, TAKE A CHANCE, MAKE A CHANGE, BREAKAWAY!
Getting Horse to Jump a Scary Downed Tree- Trail Sacking Out- Horse Confidence

While trail riding we came across this large tree that looked scary and the horse tried to avoid the tree as we walked by, so we decided to help our horses get over their fear and build our horse’s confidence by showing them and helping them get over the scary log / tree. When I said the praise part about me not doing that was directed to timing. When you stop and praise a horse you lose focus, you confuse the horse and you stop focusing on what you want, so the horse sees that as lack of direction and that tends to create confusion and the horse thinks he is done and then wants to leave and find comfort. I want pressure and good constant direction on a horse so they are clear on what I want and only ONE right answer, stopping and praising messes up that message. BTW (by the way) this was pretty advanced since we were on a steep hill so it was not level ground and the horse was going over down hill to the ground on the other side of the log was a lot further away. This would have been easier if we did this on level ground but, the easy way is not always the best way. It depends? It depends on horse, on rider, past experience of both, confidence of both and other factors. I like a challenge and something that is too easy is not fun. Which is why no plays tic tac toe very much. If you want easy, take lessons from knowitall barn people that will have you riding in circles in an arena where you will safer.. I SAID SAFER NOT SAFE. Safe is relative, some think in a arena with a …
Questions on Dealing with Abused Horses – Lecture – Rick Gore Horsemanship

www.thinklikeahorse.org – I try and read a question about a trainer that wants help in working with an abused horse. I end up trying to get Buddy out of the picture and talk about some whiners misconceptions of my dangerous bridge crossing and the comments I got. I did this video a while ago and just got around to uploading. The other video I talk about is What I learned from Rick Gore Horsemanship is here: www.youtube.com Although it takes me 40 mins to get it out, this is about telling people to stop making excuses for horse, stop trying to talk to horses and thinking that talking will get you results, stop thinking there is some secret to working with different types of horses. Pressure release, understanding prey vs predator behavior and learning to listen to your horse will get you the best results. The video I talk about the bridge crossing is here: www.youtube.com The saying about looking a gift horse in the mouth goes back to someone giving you a horse, people would check the horse’s teeth to see how old the horse was when a horse was given to them, that was considered rude since the horse was a gift. It would be like asking how much someone paid for something after they gave it to you, that would be rude.

New Scientific Study Men & Women are Different- Different with Horses too- Rick Gore Horsemanship

I have been saying this for years and people have been calling me sexist for pointing out differences. Most will agree that horses are more sensitive than people, so they can tell things that people can only guess. So if horses can tell the differences and women keep insisting they are the same, then the horse must be wrong? NO, the stupid humans are wrong. A couple of quotes from the article is below: “with women showing more sensitivity, warmth and apprehension than men” “In contrast, emotional stability, dominance, rule-consciousness and vigilance are more typically male characteristics” This comment could be said about most all species, yet humans insist on being politically correct and refuse admit that there are differences and I think the horse Knows it. I have said before you must be willing to admit you do not know something in order to start learning new things. But with the current on going bombardment of misinformation about horses, within the established horse world, most get their misinformation confirmed by the majority so they continue to think they are right, so in their mind, there is not need to change what they think they know. And as usual the horse pays. Link to my video on the Warrior Gene: www.youtube.com This article below hits on the inability of people to see themselves as they are, which is why so many horse people think they are right and believe they can’t be wrong: bps-research-digest.blogspot.com Another article below about women being a …
The Difference between Horse Hoof Marks or Horse Teeth Marks – Rick Gore Horsemanship

www.thinklikeahorse.org – I got a question about how I tell the difference between a horse injury and how do you know if it is caused by a hoof or by teeth. I go on a side topic of shoes or no shoes on horses and marks and dangers of rear shoes in pasture. This question was from a video I did on Buddy’s back injury that I think was caused by teeth rather than a hoof. Here is link to that video if you want to see the injury: www.youtube.com I talk about the picture of hoof that is shod here is a link to that page, the picture is about half way down the page: www.thinklikeahorse.org Here is link to Newton’s Law of Motion: en.wikipedia.org Here is another link that shows how the hoof works with no shoe and naturally and how that movement helps blood flow: www.thinklikeahorse.org -
